Hi everybody. Well, it’s happened. I’m in my mid-thirties and I’ve realized I’m completely and utterly out of shape. It just so happens that the company I work for has teamed with Humana insurance and the American Cancer Society to promote the Active for Life project, which is a 10 week program aimed at getting us couch (or cubicle) potatoes on our feet.
All Active for Life participants will be keeping track of our total number of minutes being active during the day and also wearing a pedometer to keep track of the number of steps we’re taking each day. If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’ve already assumed that I am taking the challenge.
So, today is the first day of the rest of my life as they say. I have eaten an apple this morning for breakfast, have called the local gym and signed up, and have walked a total of 1,500 steps so far today and it’s only late afternoon. I know from experience not to start off to strong, so I’ll do my best to keep my enthusiasm in check;)
Wish me luck!
