Can You Afford This Car?

A company named Tata Motors in India unveiled their newest vehicle today, the Nano, a car that would sell for 100,000 lupee, or $2,500 dollars! You heard me right folks, $2,500. This could bring car ownership to millions of people in India, but some complain that so many news cars would overrun roads and create environmental problems.
Of course, you wouldn’t expect that this car would be luxury would you? How about only one windshield wiper, or a non-existent passenger side mirror? I’ll take the deluxe please.
What kind of vehicle do you think will eventually take over the market? Electric, hydrogen, air-powered?

Of all the different technologies out there I think the CAT (Compressed Air Technology) Car is the best. It’s cheap, clean, and meets all the demands of us crazy American drivers. IE: maintenance costs, mileage per “charge”, and style.
Granted it’s a little small and kind of strange looking. But hey look at the Element and PT Cruiser.

I would agree, the CAT Car seems the most logical overall. In fact, one thought I had after posting was whether or not the places where the Nano will be sold have access to mass transit?
It would seem to me that if Tata Motors is at all interested in being environmentally conscious, they might focus some of their efforts on a public transportation solution. I suppose this will take some further research of the company before I spout off too much;)

One its Rupee and not Lupee
Lupee sounds fun like im a lil lupee today.
Two, the Nano is Euro 4 so it should not be causing too much pollution as compared to other cars.

How about a car you plug in just like any other household appliance? The ZENN (zero emission no noise) car is a 100% electric car developed in Canada. The downside is 40km per hour speed limit and where to plug it in if you’re away from home? But it’s pretty cool. Watch the video with Canadian comic Rick Mercer on their website at: http://www.zenncars.com/

I could deal with the mileage restriction since I live very close to my place of employment, but plugging in when on the road? Maybe run an extension cord into my hotel room?
Great video too! Thanks a lot for sharing with me and the One Eyed View readers:)

This car was introduced in Europe for a price of appr. 1,250 Euros.
Seems that no country in the EC allows it to drive on the roads, as it is unsafe (yet).
It made a nice intro though!

Oh Euro 4, Euro is a emission stage level. Like Euro one or the Bharti Stage 1 is the first level passing of pollution standards,
Euro 2 oh i just found the wiki link to do it
