Not only on remote pacific islands, but also interior jungles where they have to speculate how it got there. One idea is that it floats down rivers and then is carried by birds away from the waterways. Another idea is that the small pieces get caught up in storms that come on shore and deposited up in the coastal mountain ranges of western South America and some pacific islands. Insane. Now that we are producing so much corn for bio-fuel, and we have a way to make bio-degrading plastic substitutes out of corn by-products, why aren't we using this instead of plastics made from petroleum products? Oh, what a world!
