This past weekend, my wife and I watched the movie “Pulse” with some friends and had an interesting conversation covering several paranormal topics afterward. If you’re not familiar with this film, here’s the summary…
The hacker Josh invades the computer of Douglas Ziegler, who is developing a powerful wireless signal and accidentally releases a mysterious force that take the will to live of the human beings, generating a suicide epidemic and increasing the force. His girlfriend and student of psychology Mattie sees each one of their common friends die and the destruction of the modern world, and together with her new acquaintance Dexter, they try to plan a virus developed by Josh in the network to shutdown the system and save mankind.
There were five of us, and we all started to share our thoughts on the subjects of ghosts, life after death, out-of-body experiences, remote-viewing, spirituality, and why we either believed or didn’t believe in these subjects. We all shared some stories about strange things that had happened to us and one story struck me as pretty unique.
One of the friends referenced above attended a seminar by Stan Matrunick back in 1995. Stan Matrunick is (or was) a psychic pastel artist. His “claim to fame” was that he would receive images of someone’s spiritual guide and then draw that image in pastel chalk. However, as far as I can tell he never actually tried to claim fame. This seminar took place in a small town where you wouldn’t really expect this kind of thing, at least I wouldn’t.
Wow, what an intro huh? Ok, here’s the story. When my friend arrived at the seminar, it had already started. When she walked in the door to the room, her attention was drawn to this man on stage in front of five easels containg five different pastel portraits in various stages of completion. She focused on one portrait in particular and couldn’t seem to turn away from it. She pointed out the portrait to the friend that had attended with her and the friend seemed to not see the importance of this individual portrait. In fact, my friend didn’t realize the importance until much later in life, but knew at that time that there was “something” about that portrait that was drawing her to it.
She eventually found a seat and continued to watch the artist finish all five portraits. After he was finished with each, he asked the crowd if anyone felt especially attracted to any of these portraits. As a few people raised their hands, my friend felt a little to strange to raise her hand, so she didn’t. Stan Maturnick presented them with the portraits he had drawn. There was one last portrait left. He took that portrait, walked directly for my friend and asked if she had felt drawn to this portrait. She admitted that she was drawn to it, and it was intense. He presented her with the portrait and told her that this portrait was of her spirit guide!
After hearing this story, we had to see the portrait of course, and here it is…
Hang on folks, it’s gets even better! Look closely at this photo. Would you think that this photo would look similar to a Filipino woman? A Filipino woman in a beauty pageant? The grandmother of my friend’s now best friend and life partner? You’d be exactly right!
*Note* I’m trying to get a picture of the grandmother for comparison.
These are the kind of “coincidences” that drive me and drives the One Eyed View search for knowledge of all things “unknown”.

Ooooo… that is really spooky. I think we all have these little moments in life that give us a window into the spiritual world. A very intriguing post…

So interesting. I think we have all had those moments in which we have a “strange feeling” or see someone and think, “Have I met this person before?” or we are in a situation and feel as if we have been there before. These are little windows into our spiritual world…whatever we may feel that is… whatever our beliefs may be. Our views are as varied as our personalities, but when we share stories such as this, I don’t know how we can deny the existence of a spiritual world or being. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your comment! I agree that these moments are all around us and probably more than we realize. I try to train myself to be aware and to look for these glimpses of the spiritual world. After all, that is the world we came from before this human form:)
